I have mixed emotions about this shelf, but it is Pretty Okay for what you're paying for it. I bought it with the understanding that I was going to change stuff about it, but I'll talk about that further down. The base shelf is fine. It's Fine. As you can see there is a bit of a gap in the door, but that is nowhere near as obvious without lights in the cabinet. The backing paper is quite literally cardboard, but does at least have a print of a matching grain as the particleboard cabinet itself. The glass doors add a lot of weight, so be sure to actually strap it to the wall, either with the nylon strap provided or something sturdier. Everything is pre-drilled and the instructions are largely image-based, so it's pretty easy to follow and put together. No one in the other reviews is joking, though-- you need two people to put this thing together. As for the upgrades, I hated the handles on the door that came in the box. They mounted too low, they were ugly and I felt like I was going to get my finger caught in them. I bought some plain black cabinet hardware from Local Hardware Store and they are so understated that they blend in when you look at the cabinet head-on. I also added LED lights to the interior and taped all the wires down with black electrical tape. You can see it, but it actually blends pretty well. The cardboard back actually worked to great effect here! I could push it out slightly and wire everything in whatever direction I wanted with little effort and no noticeable damage. For the price, this is a decent shelf! This is particleboard furniture, you're not getting something that can stand up to abuse here. The cardboard backing that's attached via nails is an important part of the structural integrity. Other reviews mention issues with the shelf falling apart when attempting to stand it up, however with this or any other particleboard furniture I would highly stress to keep it laying down until the backing is fully nailed in. You want to loosely attach the hinges on the doors and line them up, then tighten the screws so that they are even, etc etc.The only oddity I came across is the top/bottom pieces. This piece of furniture has some nice corner brackets that connect to the underside to help more securely attach the bottom piece to the sides. I had not seen that in other particleboard furniture and it was a nice touch that helped keep everything stable while fastening everything together. The top however is only help together by two loose plastic dowels towards the back and two locking metal ones towards the front. This made walking the finished cabinet into its final place awkward as I could not count on the top of the unit to provide support for the rest while I lifted.A few screws and some L-brackets from the hardware store should resolve this minor complaint, but it was odd to see the plastic brackets for the bottom and nothing for the top.Smaller than expectedThe cabinet looks great in my office and provides good storage and display space. The edges of the laminate are rough in places. There's also some dents in the wood. I wouldn't buy it againThis is made of what I call wood chips and glue. It is very heavy. After I got it inside my house, I unpacked it downstairs and took the parts upstairs in several trips and built it in the room where it will stay. No problem, but much easier than trying to carry it upstairs in the shipping container. The instructions are good and accurate. It went together OK and looks fine. I recommend adding a few tools to the list given: a rubber mallet to help align the sides and set the dowels, and an “L”-shaped T-square to make sure it is properly aligned. If you have a screw starter for Phillips heads, that will help, too. I also stood it up before installing the doors because I was concerned about flipping it upright fully assembled due to the weight. Turned out to be a bit more of a hassle, so take your pick. And the hinges are adjustable. Don’t tighten them down before you try to hang the doors. You need the play to align them for the pre-drilled screw holes and then adjust the closure. The Amazon listing recommends two people for assembly. Probably easier with two, especially in view of the weight, but I did it by myself. Looks very nice finished, and if you want to add extra shelves, it wouldn’t be hard to do that. The little shelf support pins are standard sized. Overall, I am very happy with it, especially at the price. The product is nice. For product I give 5 stars. If I could rate UPS delivery separately, I would give it one star because of the lie about attemted delivery on 6/6/2022 at 7:07 PM. (we waited outside for this delivey and did not have it).Thank you.It looks good and works well for display and storage. But it is not as sturdy as I hoped it would be. The instructions are lacking in a few key points , so even with paying close attention it came down to trial and error.put the back panel on last. put the unit together, gently push the unit side to side until the doors align, green tape it in place, then attach the back. you will avoid a lot of headaches.nine days for this to get to the courier from the vendor, 6 days for cross country, 2 weeks for last 500 km. december purchase.the unit arrived in fine condition, together, it's pleasant simple lines will fit in anywhere. i like it.The product arrived with missing screws, holes drilled in the wrong place for the door hinges and damage to the finish. The particleboard is very soft and flakes easily. Inferior quality overall. I would not buy from this company again.
