Holds up reasonably well to firm use with a little flex. This cleans well, minimal plastic and the blade is sharp, making short shrift of apples. A handle at right angles might have been a more ergonomic design but the pluses of this design make this a reasonably good option that I’ve appreciated the more I’ve used it
